Bio and policy statement
I’ve worked at ANU for more than a decade; in that time, I’ve seen a lot of the University.
I began my career in higher education at Student Central and have worked in student administration roles in both CASS and what, at the time, was CECS. I’ve also supported several major University Projects - most notably the
development of the Admissions, Scholarship and Accommodation platform (one of my most fondly remembered roles, which took me all around the country promoting the launch of ASA, through rural Victoria, and as far afield as Port Hedland and Karratha), then as Project Manager, Admissions Reform. More recently, I’ve worked as Admissions Manager, Associate Director, Admissions & Scholarships, and am currently in a Project Role supporting the delivery of a suite of enabling programs for the University.
ANU remains in a state of change – both internally and externally, driven by an ever-growing number of external headwinds: increasing competition for students both domestically and internationally, greater regulation of the tertiary sector, and more. Academic Board, in my view, plays a crucial role in guiding the University through these uncertain times.
I have decided to run for election for Academic Board as I feel well placed to contribute to the deliberations of the Board, bringing both a professional-staff member perspective gained through a variety of College and non-College roles, and contributions to positive change through my experience delivering major admission changes, much of which has interfaced directly with Academic Board.
