Meredith Thomas is an experienced senior professional staff member at the Australian National University who brings an informed professional staff voice to governance and institutional decision‑making. She currently serves as Executive Officer of the Agrifood Innovation Institute, where she provides strategic and operational leadership across major research initiatives, industry and government partnerships, and Board‑level reporting.
With more than a decade of experience in the university sector, including the past eight years at ANU, Meredith has deep insight into how University policies, systems, and decisions are experienced by professional staff and translated into day‑to‑day operations. Her career spans research operations, contracts, finance and procurement, risk management, executive support, and Board secretariat roles, giving her a whole‑of‑University perspective and enabling her to provide informed, balanced advice at the intersection of academic mission and institutional stewardship.
Meredith actively supports professional staff mentoring and advocates for recognition of professional staff expertise.
