Policy Statement
As an alumnus and having worked in three colleges over my 23 years at ANU, I would be delighted to serve as an academic staff member representing the College of Law, Governance and Policy (CLGP) on the Academic Board. My primary aim would be to play a positive role ensuring that our reputation returns to the level I have been so proud of for so long. While still actively engaged in research, I am most passionate about providing the best possible education experience for all our students – from undergraduates to HDRs - seeing this as the single most important imperative for the University. As Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2016, and now as Head of ACDE, I strive to ensure that best educational practices are observed and advanced – by communicating effectively to students, upholding academic integrity and freedom, modernising programs and courses, and constantly reflecting on how to adapt to the challenges and opportunities presented by AI. If elected, I would bring this passion and experience to the Academic Board, while also advocating for CLGP’s broader academic interests.
