Global Security Challenges: A View from Down Under

Professor John Blaxland, Director of the ANU North American Liaison Office, will be joined by ANU alumnus Joe Kelly, Washington Correspondent for The Australian, for a fireside chat on Global Security Challenges: A View from Down Under.

Together they’ll explore the shifting global landscape, from the Indo-Pacific to the corridors of power in Washington, examining the strategic challenges and opportunities shaping our shared future.

This special evening offers the chance to engage in a thought-provoking discussion, ask questions, and reconnect with fellow ANU alumni and friends in a diplomatic setting.

Our speakers bring deep expertise from both policy and media perspectives

Professor John Blaxland

Professor of International Security & Intelligence Studies and Director of the ANU North American Liaison Office, Professor Blaxland is a recognised authority on military history, intelligence and security policy. A former Australian Army intelligence officer, he has authored numerous works on Australian defence and foreign-policy matters.

Joe Kelly

ANU alumnus and Washington Correspondent for The Australian, Joe Kelly has reported extensively on global affairs and Australian politics, offering in-depth coverage from Washington and beyond.
