A new biography of Frank Arkell

Presented by ANU College of Arts & Social Sciences

In the 1970s and 1980s Frank Arkell dominated Wollongong politics with an irrespressable style and boundless energy.

But at the edges of public consciousness there were rumours and allegations of impropriety and illicit activities. These eventually solidified into police charges in 1997. Just three months before he was due to stand trial he was brutally murdered.

Join us as Frank Bongiorno launches Erik Eklund's important and powerful new work on an influential but tragically flawed individual.
