Presented by ANU College of Law, Governance & Policy
This doctoral research examines the scope, trajectories and drivers of the expansion of the scope of activities by public-private partnerships in global health.
In this presentation, Cynthia will update peers on her research and introduce preliminary findings from her data collection. Her large-scale content analysis already points towards significant expansion in the scope of activities of infectious disease public-private partnerships since their creation, following horizontal and vertical trajectories. Initial data from interviews highlights the contradictory nature of these expansions with the initial gap-filling aims of these organizations.
Preliminary findings show that, on top of several international factors contributing to this phenomenon, the competition for resources seems to act as a critical driver for these organizations. Upcoming research steps are diving deeper into these driving forces.
As a key component of the Mid-Term Review, this presentation aims at sharing Cynthia’s ongoing doctoral work with the School to benefit from insights, ideas and advice from her peers, colleagues, and Faculty.
This seminar is Cynthia's mid-term doctoral candidature presentation.
