Canvas and a range of tools are used for learning and communication within courses at ANU.
Canvas
From Winter/Semester 2, 2025, most courses have moved to Canvas, our new Learning Management System (LMS). Find out more about the transition to Canvas.
In Canvas, there is a separate site for each course you are enrolled in with key information such as: assessment details; grades; tutorial enrolments; lecture recordings; weekly readings; course updates; announcements and other learning materials as well as collaboration spaces. You can set up notifications within Canvas to help you stay updated.
To access Canvas, log in at (opens Canvas) using your Single Sign On credentials.

Wattle
Canvas is now the primary Learning Management System for ANU, therefore Wattle will move to limited access from 17 December 2025.
From this date, most ANU students will lose login access to Wattle, and most content in Wattle will no longer be accessible to students.
If there are files in Wattle you would like to retain, please download and save these before 17 December 2025. Instructions to complete this process can be found at .
Due to specific requirements, a small number of groups retain limited Wattle access into 2026, but most students will no longer be able to log in. If you believe you require log in to Wattle after 17 December and have not been contacted regarding continued access, please submit a request to Learning and Teaching User Support via .
On campus spaces for remote participation
There are many learning spaces on campus where students can participate in remote classes. The ANU , , and individual schools offer a range of spaces for students on both a drop-in and booking basis.
Melville Hall has been modified specifically to make space available for students to participate in remote classes while they are on campus. There are individual cubicles as well as group spaces in a warm environment, with good wifi access. Students will be able to use their own ear buds or headphones and talk quietly while they participate in remotely delivered classes.
